Exactly. Remember, muscles don’t grow while you train, they grow while you recover. Think long game, not just short-term pump.

End of the day, train smart. Intensity + recovery = growth. Don’t chase volume just because you love the burn.

Love that idea—I usually skip activation. You might add some band walks before hip thrusts and see how it feels.

Mini bands before compounds. Warm-up activation gets the glutes firing so I don’t have to overload crazy heavy later.

Also check your form. Sometimes “overtraining” is just bad loading patterns. I had to fix my squat form so quads and hammies shared the work.

Switching rep ranges helps too. I rotate heavy 6–8 rep sets with lighter 12–15s. Different stimulus, less overall strain.

Don’t forget deload weeks. Even one lighter week every 6–8 weeks keeps me from frying my glutes completely.

Good point—I almost always go to failure. You might try leaving some gas in the tank next week.

I love using RPE (rate of perceived exertion). If I’m constantly hitting failure, my glutes feel wrecked. Now I leave 1–2 reps in the tank and it’s been a game-changer.

What worked for me: 2 heavy sessions (thrusts/squats/hinges) and 1 pump day (bands, kickbacks, abductions). Keeps the volume high without burning out.
