What's the gym etiquette thing that quietly drives you up the wall?
Not a serious rant, just curious - what's the small gym etiquette thing that gets under your skin? For me it's people leaving plates on the bar after a heavy set so the next person has to strip 100kg before they can even start.

Phones on the equipment. Someone sitting on the only hack squat for ten minutes scrolling between sets while three of us wait. Rest is fine, but go stand somewhere if you're going to take that long.

Curls in the squat rack when every other rack is free. I will never understand it.

Honestly the plates thing you mentioned is my number one too. Re-racking takes fifteen seconds. It's just basic respect for whoever's next.

People who don't wipe down a bench after sweating all over it. I always carry a towel, doesn't everyone?

Mine's a bit different - unsolicited form advice. If I want a coach I'll hire one. Ninety percent of the time the person giving it has worse form than me anyway.

Dropping dumbbells from the top of a press when they're 20kg. You don't need to slam them, you're not deadlifting 300. The whole gym jumps every time.

Counterpoint to the rest-time complaints - some of us are doing heavy compounds and genuinely need 3-4 minutes between sets. The fix is just let people work in, not glare at them.

That's totally fair. Working in solves most of it. The problem is the phone people who can't work in because they've zoned out completely.
