Sharing my cutting day of eating - 2,100 kcal, 200g protein and actually filling

Post by SophiaMiller »

A few people asked what I'm eating on my cut so here's a full day. It's 2,100 kcal, around 200g protein, and it genuinely keeps me full, which is the only reason I can stick to it:
  • Breakfast - 3 whole eggs + 3 whites, 60g oats with berries
  • Lunch - 150g chicken, big salad, 200g potato
  • Snack - 200g 0% Greek yogurt + a scoop of whey
  • Dinner - 200g lean beef mince, veg, 60g rice
  • Evening - 200g cottage cheese

Volume of food is the trick. High protein, high fibre, nothing fancy.

This is a genuinely well-built cutting day. The high protein plus the fibrous veg and potatoes is exactly why you're not starving - volume and protein both crush hunger. People try to cut on tiny calorie-dense meals and wonder why they're miserable.

Cottage cheese before bed is a great shout on a cut. Slow-digesting and it stops the late-night fridge raids. Underrated cut food.

Honestly the evening cottage cheese is what stops me caving at 10pm. Game changer.

What's your protein target based on - bodyweight? 200g sounds high for a cut but on a deficit higher protein is exactly right for holding muscle and staying full, so no criticism, just curious.

Roughly 2.2g per kg of bodyweight. I bump it slightly on a cut precisely for muscle retention and satiety. It's the one macro I never compromise when calories drop.

That's textbook. Higher protein on a deficit is one of the few things basically all the research agrees on.

Saving this. I always struggle with hunger when I cut and my days are way lower protein than this. Clearly I've been doing it on too little food and too little protein at once.

That combination is the classic mistake. Push the protein and the veg volume up and the same calories feel like twice the food.

Do you ever get bored eating basically the same thing? That's usually what breaks my diets, not hunger.
