Pre-workout tolerance is out of control - anyone else had to reset?
I'm up to nearly three scoops of pre to feel anything and I know that's not great. Late night confession. Anyone successfully reset their stimulant tolerance, and how long did it take to actually feel normal again?

Been exactly here. The fix is unfortunately just time off the stims. Two to four weeks fully off caffeine pre-workout and you'll be shocked how hard a single scoop hits again. There's no clever shortcut, your receptors just need the break.

Two to four weeks with no pre sounds brutal honestly.

It's not as bad as it sounds. Switch to a stim-free pump product so you keep the ritual without the caffeine. You still get a focus and pump effect, just no tolerance building.

This is the answer. Stim-free pre or just citrulline and a bit of salt for the pump. Keep the pre-workout habit, lose the caffeine spiral. After three weeks one scoop will feel like three did.

Also worth looking at your total daily caffeine, not just pre. If you're having coffee all day plus three scoops of pre, the pre was never going to feel like much. The reset has to include the coffee or it won't work.

Yeah... I drink coffee till about 4pm then train at 8pm. That's probably the real problem.

That's a lot of baseline caffeine. Your pre is competing with an already saturated system. Cap the coffee earlier and the pre will do more even before any full reset.

When you do come back, dose by half a scoop and actually assess. Most people never needed more than one scoop, they just crept up without paying attention. Start low after the reset and hold the line.

That creep is exactly what happened. Half a scoop a few months ago did the job.
