I stopped tracking because it made eating feel like another job. 😅

I still track most days, but I don’t freak out if I’m off by a little. My biggest focus is hitting protein and staying around my calorie target. If dinner with friends happens and I can’t measure everything, I just make a reasonable estimate and move on. I’d rather have a sustainable routine than skip social stuff because I can’t log a meal perfectly.

I really like that approach. I think people sometimes get caught up trying to make every single day perfect when what matters more is what you consistently do over weeks and months. One restaurant meal or one untracked weekend isn’t going to erase months of solid training and nutrition. The goal should be something you can actually live with. 🔥

I keep portions in check and prioritize protein. Simple and sustainable for me.

I used to weigh literally everything, including stuff like ketchup and salad dressing. 😂 It definitely taught me a lot about calories, but eventually I felt like I was spending too much mental energy thinking about food. Now I have a pretty good idea of what my meals should look like, so I mostly use portion control and only go back to tracking when I’m trying to make a specific change.

I use a mix of both. I’ll track for a few weeks if I feel like my weight or strength is moving in the wrong direction, then switch back to portion control once I have a better feel for my intake. 🔥

Same here. I think there’s a big difference between using tracking as a tool and feeling like you have to track every meal for the rest of your life. I actually like knowing my numbers when I have a goal, but I also want to be able to go out for dinner, travel, or have a weekend with friends without stressing about whether I logged every ingredient correctly. Balance makes a huge difference. 🍽️😎

I don’t count calories at all. I just make sure my portions aren’t getting crazy and I get protein at every meal. 💪

I’m pretty relaxed during the week but more intentional on weekends. Monday through Friday I keep meals simple and consistent, so I already have a good idea of what I’m eating. Weekends are where I give myself more flexibility, especially if I’m going out with friends. That keeps me from feeling restricted while still keeping my overall nutrition on track.

I’m somewhere in the middle. I know roughly how many calories and protein I need, but I don’t stress if one meal isn’t perfectly measured. Consistency across the week matters more to me than being exact every single day.
