Same. To sum the thread up: fixed time, packed bag, just start the warmup, track progress, chase a performance goal, and never miss twice. That's the whole game.

Exactly. Aim for never two in a row. That single rule has kept me training for years. Great thread, screenshotting half of this.

That might be the most important point in the thread. Consistency isn't never missing, it's never missing twice.

And forgive the missed days instead of spiralling. One skipped session is nothing. People quit not because they miss a day but because missing one makes them feel like a failure and they bin the whole thing.

Big one. Aesthetic goals are slow and easy to get discouraged by. Strength goals give you a clear win to chase every week.

Goals that aren't about looks. Performance goals - a pull-up, a bodyweight bench, a 5k time - give you a reason to train that doesn't evaporate when you're not feeling lean. The mirror is a fickle motivator.

Removing friction. Bag packed the night before, clothes ready, gym on the way home not out of the way. Every obstacle you remove is one less excuse your tired brain can grab onto at 6pm.

That flip is real. There's a point where missing feels worse than going.

Honestly? Discipline is just a habit you've repeated long enough that stopping feels worse than going. The first few months are pure willpower, then it flips and the gym becomes the thing that makes the rest of your day better.

Tracking everything. Seeing the numbers creep up in my log is more motivating than any hype video. On a dead day I look at last week's lifts and want to beat them. Progress itself becomes the fuel.
