Big one. Aesthetic goals are slow and easy to get discouraged by. Strength goals give you a clear win to chase every week.

And forgive the missed days instead of spiralling. One skipped session is nothing. People quit not because they miss a day but because missing one makes them feel like a failure and they bin the whole thing.

That might be the most important point in the thread. Consistency isn't never missing, it's never missing twice.

Exactly. Aim for never two in a row. That single rule has kept me training for years. Great thread, screenshotting half of this.

Same. To sum the thread up: fixed time, packed bag, just start the warmup, track progress, chase a performance goal, and never miss twice. That's the whole game.
